CVE-2020-10933 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Linux and 1 more | 4 Debian Linux, Fedora, Linux Kernel and 1 more | 2022-05-03 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in Ruby 2.5.x through 2.5.7, 2.6.x through 2.6.5, and 2.7.0. If a victim calls BasicSocket#read_nonblock(requested_size, buffer, exception: false), the method resizes the buffer to fit the requested size, but no data is copied. Thus, the buffer string provides the previous value of the heap. This may expose possibly sensitive data from the interpreter.
CVE-2020-10663 | 7 Apache, Apple, Debian and 4 more | 7 Zookeeper, Macos, Debian Linux and 4 more | 2022-04-18 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
The JSON gem through 2.2.0 for Ruby, as used in Ruby 2.4 through 2.4.9, 2.5 through 2.5.7, and 2.6 through 2.6.5, has an Unsafe Object Creation Vulnerability. This is quite similar to CVE-2013-0269, but does not rely on poor garbage-collection behavior within Ruby. Specifically, use of JSON parsing methods can lead to creation of a malicious object within the interpreter, with adverse effects that are application-dependent.
CVE-2020-25613 | 2 Fedoraproject, Ruby-lang | 3 Fedora, Ruby, Webrick | 2022-01-01 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Ruby through 2.5.8, 2.6.x through 2.6.6, and 2.7.x through 2.7.1. WEBrick, a simple HTTP server bundled with Ruby, had not checked the transfer-encoding header value rigorously. An attacker may potentially exploit this issue to bypass a reverse proxy (which also has a poor header check), which may lead to an HTTP Request Smuggling attack.
CVE-2013-0256 | 2 Canonical, Ruby-lang | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Rdoc, Ruby | 2021-09-09 | 4.3 MEDIUM | N/A |
darkfish.js in RDoc 2.3.0 through 3.12 and 4.x before 4.0.0.preview2.1, as used in Ruby, does not properly generate documents, which allows remote attackers to conduct cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks via a crafted URL.
CVE-2021-28965 | 2 Fedoraproject, Ruby-lang | 3 Fedora, Rexml, Ruby | 2021-06-02 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
The REXML gem before 3.2.5 in Ruby before 2.6.7, 2.7.x before 2.7.3, and 3.x before 3.0.1 does not properly address XML round-trip issues. An incorrect document can be produced after parsing and serializing.
CVE-2015-1855 | 3 Debian, Puppet, Ruby-lang | 5 Debian Linux, Puppet Agent, Puppet Enterprise and 2 more | 2020-09-30 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
verify_certificate_identity in the OpenSSL extension in Ruby before 2.0.0 patchlevel 645, 2.1.x before 2.1.6, and 2.2.x before 2.2.2 does not properly validate hostnames, which allows remote attackers to spoof servers via vectors related to (1) multiple wildcards, (1) wildcards in IDNA names, (3) case sensitivity, and (4) non-ASCII characters.
CVE-2019-15845 | 2 Canonical, Ruby-lang | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Ruby | 2020-08-24 | 6.4 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
Ruby through 2.4.7, 2.5.x through 2.5.6, and 2.6.x through 2.6.4 mishandles path checking within File.fnmatch functions.
CVE-2017-17742 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2020-08-16 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
Ruby before 2.2.10, 2.3.x before 2.3.7, 2.4.x before 2.4.4, 2.5.x before 2.5.1, and 2.6.0-preview1 allows an HTTP Response Splitting attack. An attacker can inject a crafted key and value into an HTTP response for the HTTP server of WEBrick.
CVE-2019-16254 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2020-08-16 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
Ruby through 2.4.7, 2.5.x through 2.5.6, and 2.6.x through 2.6.4 allows HTTP Response Splitting. If a program using WEBrick inserts untrusted input into the response header, an attacker can exploit it to insert a newline character to split a header, and inject malicious content to deceive clients. NOTE: this issue exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2017-17742, which addressed the CRLF vector, but did not address an isolated CR or an isolated LF.
CVE-2019-16201 | 2 Debian, Ruby-lang | 2 Debian Linux, Ruby | 2020-08-16 | 7.8 HIGH | 7.5 HIGH |
WEBrick::HTTPAuth::DigestAuth in Ruby through 2.4.7, 2.5.x through 2.5.6, and 2.6.x through 2.6.4 has a regular expression Denial of Service cause by looping/backtracking. A victim must expose a WEBrick server that uses DigestAuth to the Internet or a untrusted network.
CVE-2011-4121 | 1 Ruby-lang | 1 Ruby | 2020-04-30 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
The OpenSSL extension of Ruby (Git trunk) versions after 2011-09-01 up to 2011-11-03 always generated an exponent value of '1' to be used for private RSA key generation. A remote attacker could use this flaw to bypass or corrupt integrity of services, depending on strong private RSA keys generation mechanism.
CVE-2011-3624 | 1 Ruby-lang | 1 Ruby | 2019-12-11 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
Various methods in WEBrick::HTTPRequest in Ruby 1.9.2 and 1.8.7 and earlier do not validate the X-Forwarded-For, X-Forwarded-Host and X-Forwarded-Server headers in requests, which might allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary text into log files or bypass intended address parsing via a crafted header.
CVE-2018-16395 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 2 more | 2019-10-02 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
An issue was discovered in the OpenSSL library in Ruby before 2.3.8, 2.4.x before 2.4.5, 2.5.x before 2.5.2, and 2.6.x before 2.6.0-preview3. When two OpenSSL::X509::Name objects are compared using ==, depending on the ordering, non-equal objects may return true. When the first argument is one character longer than the second, or the second argument contains a character that is one less than a character in the same position of the first argument, the result of == will be true. This could be leveraged to create an illegitimate certificate that may be accepted as legitimate and then used in signing or encryption operations.
CVE-2018-8778 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2019-10-02 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
In Ruby before 2.2.10, 2.3.x before 2.3.7, 2.4.x before 2.4.4, 2.5.x before 2.5.1, and 2.6.0-preview1, an attacker controlling the unpacking format (similar to format string vulnerabilities) can trigger a buffer under-read in the String#unpack method, resulting in a massive and controlled information disclosure.
CVE-2018-16396 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2019-10-02 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 8.1 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in Ruby before 2.3.8, 2.4.x before 2.4.5, 2.5.x before 2.5.2, and 2.6.x before 2.6.0-preview3. It does not taint strings that result from unpacking tainted strings with some formats.
CVE-2017-17405 | 3 Debian, Redhat, Ruby-lang | 8 Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux Desktop, Enterprise Linux Server and 5 more | 2019-09-19 | 9.3 HIGH | 8.8 HIGH |
Ruby before 2.4.3 allows Net::FTP command injection. Net::FTP#get, getbinaryfile, gettextfile, put, putbinaryfile, and puttextfile use Kernel#open to open a local file. If the localfile argument starts with the "|" pipe character, the command following the pipe character is executed. The default value of localfile is File.basename(remotefile), so malicious FTP servers could cause arbitrary command execution.
CVE-2018-8780 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Ruby-lang | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Ruby | 2019-07-21 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.1 CRITICAL |
In Ruby before 2.2.10, 2.3.x before 2.3.7, 2.4.x before 2.4.4, 2.5.x before 2.5.1, and 2.6.0-preview1, the Dir.open, Dir.new, Dir.entries and Dir.empty? methods do not check NULL characters. When using the corresponding method, unintentional directory traversal may be performed.
CVE-2018-8777 | 4 Canonical, Debian, Redhat and 1 more | 4 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Enterprise Linux and 1 more | 2019-07-21 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
