When curl is used to retrieve and parse cookies from a HTTP(S) server, itaccepts cookies using control codes that when later are sent back to a HTTPserver might make the server return 400 responses. Effectively allowing a"sister site" to deny service to all siblings.
CVE-2022-2068 | 6 Broadcom, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 43 Sannav, Debian Linux, Fedora and 40 more | 2023-03-01 | 10.0 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
In addition to the c_rehash shell command injection identified in CVE-2022-1292, further circumstances where the c_rehash script does not properly sanitise shell metacharacters to prevent command injection were found by code review. When the CVE-2022-1292 was fixed it was not discovered that there are other places in the script where the file names of certificates being hashed were possibly passed to a command executed through the shell. This script is distributed by some operating systems in a manner where it is automatically executed. On such operating systems, an attacker could execute arbitrary commands with the privileges of the script. Use of the c_rehash script is considered obsolete and should be replaced by the OpenSSL rehash command line tool. Fixed in OpenSSL 3.0.4 (Affected 3.0.0,3.0.1,3.0.2,3.0.3). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.1.1p (Affected 1.1.1-1.1.1o). Fixed in OpenSSL 1.0.2zf (Affected 1.0.2-1.0.2ze).

In the IPv6 implementation in the Linux kernel before 5.13.3, net/ipv6/output_core.c has an information leak because of certain use of a hash table which, although big, doesn't properly consider that IPv6-based attackers can typically choose among many IPv6 source addresses.
CVE-2022-30594 | 3 Debian, Linux, Netapp | 21 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, 8300 and 18 more | 2023-02-23 | 4.4 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |

CVE-2022-27774 | 4 Brocade, Debian, Haxx and 1 more | 16 Fabric Operating System, Debian Linux, Curl and 13 more | 2023-02-23 | 3.5 LOW | 5.7 MEDIUM |
An insufficiently protected credentials vulnerability exists in curl 4.9 to and include curl 7.82.0 are affected that could allow an attacker to extract credentials when follows HTTP(S) redirects is used with authentication could leak credentials to other services that exist on different protocols or port numbers.
CVE-2022-32206 | 5 Debian, Fedoraproject, Haxx and 2 more | 29 Debian Linux, Fedora, Curl and 26 more | 2023-02-15 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
curl < 7.84.0 supports "chained" HTTP compression algorithms, meaning that a serverresponse can be compressed multiple times and potentially with different algorithms. The number of acceptable "links" in this "decompression chain" was unbounded, allowing a malicious server to insert a virtually unlimited number of compression steps. The use of such a decompression chain could result in a "malloc bomb", makingcurl end up spending enormous amounts of allocated heap memory, or trying toand returning out of memory errors.
CVE-2021-3772 | 5 Debian, Linux, Netapp and 2 more | 26 Debian Linux, Linux Kernel, E-series Santricity Os Controller and 23 more | 2023-02-12 | 5.8 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
A flaw was found in the Linux SCTP stack. A blind attacker may be able to kill an existing SCTP association through invalid chunks if the attacker knows the IP-addresses and port numbers being used and the attacker can send packets with spoofed IP addresses.
CVE-2018-25032 | 8 Apple, Debian, Fedoraproject and 5 more | 35 Mac Os X, Macos, Debian Linux and 32 more | 2023-02-11 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
zlib before 1.2.12 allows memory corruption when deflating (i.e., when compressing) if the input has many distant matches.
CVE-2020-25221 | 2 Linux, Netapp | 6 Linux Kernel, Cloud Backup, Hci Compute Node and 3 more | 2023-02-02 | 7.2 HIGH | 7.8 HIGH |
get_gate_page in mm/gup.c in the Linux kernel 5.7.x and 5.8.x before 5.8.7 allows privilege escalation because of incorrect reference counting (caused by gate page mishandling) of the struct page that backs the vsyscall page. The result is a refcount underflow. This can be triggered by any 64-bit process that can use ptrace() or process_vm_readv(), aka CID-9fa2dd946743.
CVE-2020-35507 | 4 Broadcom, Gnu, Netapp and 1 more | 9 Brocade Fabric Operating System, Binutils, Cloud Backup and 6 more | 2023-01-24 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.5 MEDIUM |
There's a flaw in bfd_pef_parse_function_stubs of bfd/pef.c in binutils in versions prior to 2.34 which could allow an attacker who is able to submit a crafted file to be processed by objdump to cause a NULL pointer dereference. The greatest threat of this flaw is to application availability.

An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 5.10.1, as used with Xen through 4.14.x. The Linux kernel PV block backend expects the kernel thread handler to reset ring->xenblkd to NULL when stopped. However, the handler may not have time to run if the frontend quickly toggles between the states connect and disconnect. As a consequence, the block backend may re-use a pointer after it was freed. A misbehaving guest can trigger a dom0 crash by continuously connecting / disconnecting a block frontend. Privilege escalation and information leaks cannot be ruled out. This only affects systems with a Linux blkback.
CVE-2019-13272 | 6 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 3 more | 20 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 17 more | 2023-01-17 | 7.2 HIGH | 7.8 HIGH |
In the Linux kernel before 5.1.17, ptrace_link in kernel/ptrace.c mishandles the recording of the credentials of a process that wants to create a ptrace relationship, which allows local users to obtain root access by leveraging certain scenarios with a parent-child process relationship, where a parent drops privileges and calls execve (potentially allowing control by an attacker). One contributing factor is an object lifetime issue (which can also cause a panic). Another contributing factor is incorrect marking of a ptrace relationship as privileged, which is exploitable through (for example) Polkit's pkexec helper with PTRACE_TRACEME. NOTE: SELinux deny_ptrace might be a usable workaround in some environments. |
