CVE-2013-1978 | 3 Gimp, Gnome, Redhat | 3 Gimp, Glib, Enterprise Linux | 2023-02-12 | 6.8 MEDIUM | N/A |
Heap-based buffer overflow in the read_xwd_cols function in file-xwd.c in the X Window Dump (XWD) plug-in in GIMP 2.6.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via an X Window System (XWD) image dump with more colors than color map entries.
CVE-2013-1913 | 3 Gimp, Gnome, Redhat | 3 Gimp, Glib, Enterprise Linux | 2023-02-12 | 6.8 MEDIUM | N/A |
Integer overflow in the load_image function in file-xwd.c in the X Window Dump (XWD) plug-in in GIMP 2.6.9 and earlier, when used with glib before 2.24, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a large color entries value in an X Window System (XWD) image dump.
CVE-2008-4316 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2023-02-12 | 4.6 MEDIUM | N/A |
Multiple integer overflows in glib/gbase64.c in GLib before 2.20 allow context-dependent attackers to execute arbitrary code via a long string that is converted either (1) from or (2) to a base64 representation.
CVE-2012-0039 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2023-02-12 | 5.0 MEDIUM | N/A |
** DISPUTED ** GLib 2.31.8 and earlier, when the g_str_hash function is used, computes hash values without restricting the ability to trigger hash collisions predictably, which allows context-dependent attackers to cause a denial of service (CPU consumption) via crafted input to an application that maintains a hash table. NOTE: this issue may be disputed by the vendor; the existence of the g_str_hash function is not a vulnerability in the library, because callers of g_hash_table_new and g_hash_table_new_full can specify an arbitrary hash function that is appropriate for the application.
CVE-2021-28153 | 4 Broadcom, Debian, Fedoraproject and 1 more | 4 Brocade Fabric Operating System Firmware, Debian Linux, Fedora and 1 more | 2023-02-03 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 5.3 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in GNOME GLib before 2.66.8. When g_file_replace() is used with G_FILE_CREATE_REPLACE_DESTINATION to replace a path that is a dangling symlink, it incorrectly also creates the target of the symlink as an empty file, which could conceivably have security relevance if the symlink is attacker-controlled. (If the path is a symlink to a file that already exists, then the contents of that file correctly remain unchanged.)
CVE-2021-27218 | 5 Broadcom, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 7 Brocade Fabric Operating System Firmware, Debian Linux, Fedora and 4 more | 2022-12-07 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in GNOME GLib before 2.66.7 and 2.67.x before 2.67.4. If g_byte_array_new_take() was called with a buffer of 4GB or more on a 64-bit platform, the length would be truncated modulo 2**32, causing unintended length truncation.
CVE-2021-27219 | 5 Broadcom, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 7 Brocade Fabric Operating System Firmware, Debian Linux, Fedora and 4 more | 2022-12-07 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
An issue was discovered in GNOME GLib before 2.66.6 and 2.67.x before 2.67.3. The function g_bytes_new has an integer overflow on 64-bit platforms due to an implicit cast from 64 bits to 32 bits. The overflow could potentially lead to memory corruption.
CVE-2021-3800 | 3 Debian, Gnome, Netapp | 3 Debian Linux, Glib, Active Iq Unified Manager | 2022-12-06 | N/A | 7.5 HIGH |
A flaw was found in glib before version 2.63.6. Due to random charset alias, pkexec can leak content from files owned by privileged users to unprivileged ones under the right condition.
CVE-2020-6750 | 2 Fedoraproject, Gnome | 2 Fedora, Glib | 2022-01-01 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
GSocketClient in GNOME GLib through 2.62.4 may occasionally connect directly to a target address instead of connecting via a proxy server when configured to do so, because the proxy_addr field is mishandled. This bug is timing-dependent and may occur only sporadically depending on network delays. The greatest security relevance is in use cases where a proxy is used to help with privacy/anonymity, even though there is no technical barrier to a direct connection. NOTE: versions before 2.60 are unaffected.
CVE-2020-35457 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2021-07-21 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
** DISPUTED ** GNOME GLib before 2.65.3 has an integer overflow, that might lead to an out-of-bounds write, in g_option_group_add_entries. NOTE: the vendor's position is "Realistically this is not a security issue. The standard pattern is for callers to provide a static list of option entries in a fixed number of calls to g_option_group_add_entries()." The researcher states that this pattern is undocumented.
CVE-2019-9633 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2021-07-21 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
gio/gsocketclient.c in GNOME GLib 2.59.2 does not ensure that a parent GTask remains alive during the execution of a connection-attempting enumeration, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (g_socket_client_connected_callback mishandling and application crash) via a crafted web site, as demonstrated by GNOME Web (aka Epiphany).
CVE-2019-13012 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2021-06-29 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
The keyfile settings backend in GNOME GLib (aka glib2.0) before 2.60.0 creates directories using g_file_make_directory_with_parents (kfsb->dir, NULL, NULL) and files using g_file_replace_contents (kfsb->file, contents, length, NULL, FALSE, G_FILE_CREATE_REPLACE_DESTINATION, NULL, NULL, NULL). Consequently, it does not properly restrict directory (and file) permissions. Instead, for directories, 0777 permissions are used; for files, default file permissions are used. This is similar to CVE-2019-12450.
CVE-2018-16429 | 2 Canonical, Gnome | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Glib | 2021-06-29 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
GNOME GLib 2.56.1 has an out-of-bounds read vulnerability in g_markup_parse_context_parse() in gmarkup.c, related to utf8_str().
CVE-2019-12450 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2020-08-24 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
file_copy_fallback in gio/gfile.c in GNOME GLib 2.15.0 through 2.61.1 does not properly restrict file permissions while a copy operation is in progress. Instead, default permissions are used.
CVE-2018-16428 | 2 Canonical, Gnome | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Glib | 2019-07-31 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
In GNOME GLib 2.56.1, g_markup_parse_context_end_parse() in gmarkup.c has a NULL pointer dereference.
CVE-2016-6855 | 4 Canonical, Fedoraproject, Gnome and 1 more | 6 Ubuntu Linux, Fedora, Eye Of Gnome and 3 more | 2018-10-30 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
Eye of GNOME (aka eog) 3.16.5, 3.17.x, 3.18.x before 3.18.3, 3.19.x, and 3.20.x before 3.20.4, when used with glib before 2.44.1, allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds write and crash) via vectors involving passing invalid UTF-8 to GMarkup.
CVE-2011-1709 | 1 Gnome | 2 Gdm, Glib | 2011-09-06 | 7.2 HIGH | N/A |
GNOME Display Manager (gdm) before 2.32.2, when glib 2.28 is used, enables execution of a web browser with the uid of the gdm account, which allows local users to gain privileges via vectors involving the x-scheme-handler/http MIME type.
CVE-2009-3289 | 1 Gnome | 1 Glib | 2010-05-19 | 4.4 MEDIUM | N/A |
The g_file_copy function in glib 2.0 sets the permissions of a target file to the permissions of a symbolic link (777), which allows user-assisted local users to modify files of other users, as demonstrated by using Nautilus to modify the permissions of the user home directory. |
