ALPACA is an application layer protocol content confusion attack, exploiting TLS servers implementing different protocols but using compatible certificates, such as multi-domain or wildcard certificates. A MiTM attacker having access to victim's traffic at the TCP/IP layer can redirect traffic from one subdomain to another, resulting in a valid TLS session. This breaks the authentication of TLS and cross-protocol attacks may be possible where the behavior of one protocol service may compromise the other at the application layer.
CVE-2022-34526 | 4 Debian, Fedoraproject, Libtiff and 1 more | 5 Debian Linux, Fedora, Libtiff and 2 more | 2023-02-08 | N/A | 6.5 MEDIUM |
A stack overflow was discovered in the _TIFFVGetField function of Tiffsplit v4.4.0. This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) via a crafted TIFF file parsed by the "tiffsplit" or "tiffcrop" utilities.
CVE-2022-30975 | 3 Artifex, Debian, Fedoraproject | 3 Mujs, Debian Linux, Fedora | 2023-02-08 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.5 MEDIUM |
In Artifex MuJS through 1.2.0, jsP_dumpsyntax in jsdump.c has a NULL pointer dereference, as demonstrated by mujs-pp.
CVE-2022-30974 | 3 Artifex, Debian, Fedoraproject | 3 Mujs, Debian Linux, Fedora | 2023-02-08 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.5 MEDIUM |

CVE-2022-44020 | 2 Fedoraproject, Opendev | 3 Fedora, Sushy-tools, Virtualbmc | 2023-02-08 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in OpenStack Sushy-Tools through 0.21.0 and VirtualBMC through 2.2.2. Changing the boot device configuration with these packages removes password protection from the managed libvirt XML domain. NOTE: this only affects an "unsupported, production-like configuration."
CVE-2022-4285 | 3 Fedoraproject, Gnu, Redhat | 3 Fedora, Binutils, Enterprise Linux | 2023-02-07 | N/A | 5.5 MEDIUM |
An illegal memory access flaw was found in the binutils package. Parsing an ELF file containing corrupt symbol version information may result in a denial of service. This issue is the result of an incomplete fix for CVE-2020-16599.
CVE-2022-24439 | 2 Fedoraproject, Gitpython Project | 2 Fedora, Gitpython | 2023-02-06 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL |
All versions of package gitpython are vulnerable to Remote Code Execution (RCE) due to improper user input validation, which makes it possible to inject a maliciously crafted remote URL into the clone command. Exploiting this vulnerability is possible because the library makes external calls to git without sufficient sanitization of input arguments.
CVE-2021-44228 | 11 Apache, Bentley, Cisco and 8 more | 156 Log4j, Synchro, Synchro 4d and 153 more | 2023-02-06 | 9.3 HIGH | 10.0 CRITICAL |
Apache Log4j2 2.0-beta9 through 2.15.0 (excluding security releases 2.12.2, 2.12.3, and 2.3.1) JNDI features used in configuration, log messages, and parameters do not protect against attacker controlled LDAP and other JNDI related endpoints. An attacker who can control log messages or log message parameters can execute arbitrary code loaded from LDAP servers when message lookup substitution is enabled. From log4j 2.15.0, this behavior has been disabled by default. From version 2.16.0 (along with 2.12.2, 2.12.3, and 2.3.1), this functionality has been completely removed. Note that this vulnerability is specific to log4j-core and does not affect log4net, log4cxx, or other Apache Logging Services projects.
CVE-2022-36227 | 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Libarchive | 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Libarchive | 2023-02-06 | N/A | 9.8 CRITICAL |
In libarchive before 3.6.2, the software does not check for an error after calling calloc function that can return with a NULL pointer if the function fails, which leads to a resultant NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: the discoverer cites this CWE-476 remark but third parties dispute the code-execution impact: "In rare circumstances, when NULL is equivalent to the 0x0 memory address and privileged code can access it, then writing or reading memory is possible, which may lead to code execution."
CVE-2022-31197 | 3 Debian, Fedoraproject, Postgresql | 3 Debian Linux, Fedora, Postgresql Jdbc Driver | 2023-02-06 | N/A | 8.0 HIGH |
PostgreSQL JDBC Driver (PgJDBC for short) allows Java programs to connect to a PostgreSQL database using standard, database independent Java code. The PGJDBC implementation of the `java.sql.ResultRow.refreshRow()` method is not performing escaping of column names so a malicious column name that contains a statement terminator, e.g. `;`, could lead to SQL injection. This could lead to executing additional SQL commands as the application's JDBC user. User applications that do not invoke the `ResultSet.refreshRow()` method are not impacted. User application that do invoke that method are impacted if the underlying database that they are querying via their JDBC application may be under the control of an attacker. The attack requires the attacker to trick the user into executing SQL against a table name who's column names would contain the malicious SQL and subsequently invoke the `refreshRow()` method on the ResultSet. Note that the application's JDBC user and the schema owner need not be the same. A JDBC application that executes as a privileged user querying database schemas owned by potentially malicious less-privileged users would be vulnerable. In that situation it may be possible for the malicious user to craft a schema that causes the application to execute commands as the privileged user. Patched versions will be released as `42.2.26` and `42.4.1`. Users are advised to upgrade. There are no known workarounds for this issue.
CVE-2022-42919 | 2 Fedoraproject, Python | 2 Fedora, Python | 2023-02-05 | N/A | 7.8 HIGH |
Python 3.9.x before 3.9.16 and 3.10.x before 3.10.9 on Linux allows local privilege escalation in a non-default configuration. The Python multiprocessing library, when used with the forkserver start method on Linux, allows pickles to be deserialized from any user in the same machine local network namespace, which in many system configurations means any user on the same machine. Pickles can execute arbitrary code. Thus, this allows for local user privilege escalation to the user that any forkserver process is running as. Setting multiprocessing.util.abstract_sockets_supported to False is a workaround. The forkserver start method for multiprocessing is not the default start method. This issue is Linux specific because only Linux supports abstract namespace sockets. CPython before 3.9 does not make use of Linux abstract namespace sockets by default. Support for users manually specifying an abstract namespace socket was added as a bugfix in 3.7.8 and 3.8.3, but users would need to make specific uncommon API calls in order to do that in CPython before 3.9. |
