drivers/net/wireless/marvell/libertas/if_sdio.c in the Linux kernel 5.2.14 does not check the alloc_workqueue return value, leading to a NULL pointer dereference.
CVE-2019-16229 | 3 Canonical, Linux, Redhat | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel, Enterprise Linux | 2020-05-04 | 4.7 MEDIUM | 4.1 MEDIUM |
** DISPUTED ** drivers/gpu/drm/amd/amdkfd/kfd_interrupt.c in the Linux kernel 5.2.14 does not check the alloc_workqueue return value, leading to a NULL pointer dereference. NOTE: The security community disputes this issues as not being serious enough to be deserving a CVE id.
CVE-2018-11235 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Git-scm and 2 more | 9 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Git and 6 more | 2020-05-01 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
In Git before 2.13.7, 2.14.x before 2.14.4, 2.15.x before 2.15.2, 2.16.x before 2.16.4, and 2.17.x before 2.17.1, remote code execution can occur. With a crafted .gitmodules file, a malicious project can execute an arbitrary script on a machine that runs "git clone --recurse-submodules" because submodule "names" are obtained from this file, and then appended to $GIT_DIR/modules, leading to directory traversal with "../" in a name. Finally, post-checkout hooks from a submodule are executed, bypassing the intended design in which hooks are not obtained from a remote server.
CVE-2018-11233 | 2 Canonical, Git-scm | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Git | 2020-05-01 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
In Git before 2.13.7, 2.14.x before 2.14.4, 2.15.x before 2.15.2, 2.16.x before 2.16.4, and 2.17.x before 2.17.1, code to sanity-check pathnames on NTFS can result in reading out-of-bounds memory.
CVE-2017-15298 | 2 Canonical, Git-scm | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Git | 2020-05-01 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.5 MEDIUM |
Git through 2.14.2 mishandles layers of tree objects, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) via a crafted repository, aka a Git bomb. This can also have an impact of disk consumption; however, an affected process typically would not survive its attempt to build the data structure in memory before writing to disk.
CVE-2019-15791 | 2 Canonical, Linux | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel | 2020-05-01 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
In shiftfs, a non-upstream patch to the Linux kernel included in the Ubuntu 5.0 and 5.3 kernel series, shiftfs_btrfs_ioctl_fd_replace() installs an fd referencing a file from the lower filesystem without taking an additional reference to that file. After the btrfs ioctl completes this fd is closed, which then puts a reference to that file, leading to a refcount underflow.
CVE-2019-15792 | 2 Canonical, Linux | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel | 2020-05-01 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 7.8 HIGH |
In shiftfs, a non-upstream patch to the Linux kernel included in the Ubuntu 5.0 and 5.3 kernel series, shiftfs_btrfs_ioctl_fd_replace() calls fdget(oldfd), then without further checks passes the resulting file* into shiftfs_real_fdget(), which casts file->private_data, a void* that points to a filesystem-dependent type, to a "struct shiftfs_file_info *". As the private_data is not required to be a pointer, an attacker can use this to cause a denial of service or possibly execute arbitrary code.
CVE-2019-15793 | 2 Canonical, Linux | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Linux Kernel | 2020-05-01 | 4.6 MEDIUM | 8.8 HIGH |
In shiftfs, a non-upstream patch to the Linux kernel included in the Ubuntu 5.0 and 5.3 kernel series, several locations which shift ids translate user/group ids before performing operations in the lower filesystem were translating them into init_user_ns, whereas they should have been translated into the s_user_ns for the lower filesystem. This resulted in using ids other than the intended ones in the lower fs, which likely did not map into the shifts s_user_ns. A local attacker could use this to possibly bypass discretionary access control permissions.
CVE-2017-16548 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Samba | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Rsync | 2020-05-01 | 7.5 HIGH | 9.8 CRITICAL |
The receive_xattr function in xattrs.c in rsync 3.1.2 and 3.1.3-development does not check for a trailing '\0' character in an xattr name, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (heap-based buffer over-read and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact by sending crafted data to the daemon.
CVE-2017-6512 | 3 Canonical, Debian, File\ | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, \ | 2020-04-29 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 5.9 MEDIUM |
Race condition in the rmtree and remove_tree functions in the File-Path module before 2.13 for Perl allows attackers to set the mode on arbitrary files via vectors involving directory-permission loosening logic.
CVE-2015-3451 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Fedoraproject and 2 more | 5 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Fedora and 2 more | 2020-04-29 | 5.0 MEDIUM | N/A |
The _clone function in XML::LibXML before 2.0119 does not properly set the expand_entities option, which allows remote attackers to conduct XML external entity (XXE) attacks via crafted XML data to the (1) new or (2) load_xml function.
CVE-2016-2073 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Xmlsoft | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Libxml2 | 2020-04-23 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
The htmlParseNameComplex function in HTMLparser.c in libxml2 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via a crafted XML document.
CVE-2018-19542 | 5 Canonical, Debian, Jasper Project and 2 more | 6 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Jasper and 3 more | 2020-04-15 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in JasPer 2.0.14. There is a NULL pointer dereference in the function jp2_decode in libjasper/jp2/jp2_dec.c, leading to a denial of service.
CVE-2018-1336 | 4 Apache, Canonical, Debian and 1 more | 9 Tomcat, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux and 6 more | 2020-04-15 | 5.0 MEDIUM | 7.5 HIGH |
An improper handing of overflow in the UTF-8 decoder with supplementary characters can lead to an infinite loop in the decoder causing a Denial of Service. Versions Affected: Apache Tomcat 9.0.0.M9 to 9.0.7, 8.5.0 to 8.5.30, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.51, and 7.0.28 to 7.0.86.
CVE-2019-11480 | 1 Canonical | 1 C-kernel | 2020-04-14 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 8.1 HIGH |
The pc-kernel snap build process hardcoded the --allow-insecure-repositories and --allow-unauthenticated apt options when creating the build chroot environment. This could allow an attacker who is able to perform a MITM attack between the build environment and the Ubuntu archive to install a malicious package within the build chroot. This issue affects pc-kernel versions prior to and including 2019-07-16
CVE-2015-7747 | 3 Audio File Library Project, Canonical, Fedoraproject | 3 Audio File Library, Ubuntu Linux, Fedora | 2020-04-13 | 6.8 MEDIUM | 8.8 HIGH |
Buffer overflow in the afReadFrames function in audiofile (aka libaudiofile and Audio File Library) allows user-assisted remote attackers to cause a denial of service (program crash) or possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted audio file, as demonstrated by sixteen-stereo-to-eight-mono.c.
CVE-2018-13440 | 2 Audio File Library Project, Canonical | 2 Audio File Library, Ubuntu Linux | 2020-04-13 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
The audiofile Audio File Library 0.3.6 has a NULL pointer dereference bug in ModuleState::setup in modules/ModuleState.cpp, which allows an attacker to cause a denial of service via a crafted caf file, as demonstrated by sfconvert.
CVE-2017-9239 | 2 Canonical, Exiv2 | 2 Ubuntu Linux, Exiv2 | 2020-04-08 | 4.3 MEDIUM | 6.5 MEDIUM |
An issue was discovered in Exiv2 0.26. When the data structure of the structure ifd is incorrect, the program assigns pValue_ to 0x0, and the value of pValue() is 0x0. TiffImageEntry::doWriteImage will use the value of pValue() to cause a segmentation fault. To exploit this vulnerability, someone must open a crafted tiff file.
CVE-2019-15795 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Ubuntu | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Python-apt, Python-apt | 2020-04-08 | 2.6 LOW | 4.7 MEDIUM |
python-apt only checks the MD5 sums of downloaded files in `Version.fetch_binary()` and `Version.fetch_source()` of apt/package.py in version 1.9.0ubuntu1 and earlier. This allows a man-in-the-middle attack which could potentially be used to install altered packages and has been fixed in versions 1.9.0ubuntu1.2, 1.6.5ubuntu0.1, 1.1.0~beta1ubuntu0.16.04.7, 0.9.3.5ubuntu3+esm2, and 0.8.3ubuntu7.5.
CVE-2012-3954 | 3 Canonical, Debian, Isc | 3 Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Dhcp | 2020-04-01 | 3.3 LOW | N/A |
Multiple memory leaks in ISC DHCP 4.1.x and 4.2.x before 4.2.4-P1 and 4.1-ESV before 4.1-ESV-R6 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service (memory consumption) by sending many requests. |
