Clients using the Nextcloud end-to-end encryption feature download the public and private key via an API endpoint. In versions prior to 3.3.0, the Nextcloud Desktop client fails to check if a private key belongs to previously downloaded public certificate. If the Nextcloud instance serves a malicious public key, the data would be encrypted for this key and thus could be accessible to a malicious actor. This issue is fixed in Nextcloud Desktop Client version 3.3.0. There are no known workarounds aside from upgrading."}]}, "problemtype": {"problemtype_data": [{"description": [{"lang": "en", "value": "CWE-295"}]}]}, "data_version": "4.0", "CVE_data_meta": {"ID": "CVE-2021-32728", "ASSIGNER": "security-advisories@github.com"}}, "impact": {"baseMetricV2": {"cvssV2": {"version": "2.0", "baseScore": 4.0, "accessVector": "NETWORK", "vectorString": "AV:N/AC:L/Au:S/C:P/I:N/A:N", "authentication": "SINGLE", "integrityImpact": "NONE", "accessComplexity": "LOW", "availabilityImpact": "NONE", "confidentialityImpact": "PARTIAL"}, "severity": "MEDIUM", "acInsufInfo": false, "impactScore": 2.9, "obtainAllPrivilege": false, "exploitabilityScore": 8.0, "obtainUserPrivilege": false, "obtainOtherPrivilege": false, "userInteractionRequired": false}, "baseMetricV3": {"cvssV3": {"scope": "UNCHANGED", "version": "3.1", "baseScore": 6.5, "attackVector": "NETWORK", "baseSeverity": "MEDIUM", "vectorString": "CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N", "integrityImpact": "NONE", "userInteraction": "NONE", "attackComplexity": "LOW", "availabilityImpact": "NONE", "privilegesRequired": "LOW", "confidentialityImpact": "HIGH"}, "impactScore": 3.6, "exploitabilityScore": 2.8}}, "publishedDate": "2021-08-18T16:15Z", "configurations": {"nodes": [{"children": [], "operator": "OR", "cpe_match": [{"cpe23Uri": "cpe:2.3:a:nextcloud:desktop:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*", "cpe_name": [], "vulnerable": true, "versionEndExcluding": "3.3.0"}]}, {"children": [], "operator": "OR", "cpe_match": [{"cpe23Uri": "cpe:2.3:o:debian:debian_linux:10.0:*:*:*:*:*:*:*", "cpe_name": [], "vulnerable": true}, {"cpe23Uri": "cpe:2.3:o:debian:debian_linux:11.0:*:*:*:*:*:*:*", "cpe_name": [], "vulnerable": true}]}], "CVE_data_version": "4.0"}, "lastModifiedDate": "2022-10-04T14:14Z"}
